Lower Years
Class 1 - 4, age 6 - 10
focus on introducing and practicing literacy & numeracy through story, creativity, movement and practical tasks; theme-based learning, discovering and exploring; strong land and nature connection. Most afternoons are spent helping out at Oakbrook zero dig farm, working on the land at the Haven field and day trips to farms, woods and hills!
Middle Years
Class 5 - 8, age 10 - 14
focus on extending skills in literacy & numeracy, developing skills in independent study, observation and analysis; theme-based learning; emphasis on practical and creative alongside academics; land- connection. Opportunity to participate in Steiner Waldorf Home Ed Olympics; group adventure trip e.g. to Cumbria or Scotland.
Upper Years
Class 9 - 12, age 14 - 18
focus on deepening and expanding skills as critical thinkers, with much independent study, ongoing observation and analysis including personal & social; continue with creative and practical work alongside academic; working towards the Crossfields Institute Integrated Education Diploma Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) and Level 3 (A-Level equivalent). Trips away include regenerative farming; wilderness trekking; intentional remote community; History of Art trip to Italy.
